MSD wires

Is any one going to run the MSD 8.5 mm wire as it has less Resistance than the OEM wire's?

i use them on my 2000 z there a great set of wires but don't expect to see any hp gains on them. with the wire lengths involved u realy don't gain much. oh and don't waste ur money on fancy aftermarket plugs. Ive tried bosh, ngk, and split fire. trust me i ended up with a set of factory iridium plugs. unless u are using giggle gas then go with ngk.

absolutly the best. great company, great products, great service.

BTW, The same 8.5 wire is what is used on Top Fuel cars with 2, 44 AMP Mags.
The tight winding of the copper alloy core (3 times that of a monel/nickel core) gives the RF suppression needed for a no computer/electronics issues.

The MSD wires will not cause you any concern, they are a nice addition to strengthen your ignition potential. Also if you have not modified your car to far ( intake header exhaust )we recommend NGK TR55 spark plug to achieve better combustion temps for better economy.

Regards

There are good with after market spark plugs , but it's still 8.5mm, the taylor 10mm would be great with LS3 and LS7 .

I'm sorry to add this, but I've gone through about three sets of MSDs on my old LS1-car and I just never liked the way they locked back onto the spark plugs after unplugging them once or twice. The OEM wires would pull off and snap back on great, everytime, but after the first or second time with the MSDs, they wouldn't quite snap on the same. Admittedly, I never had a problem with them working off the plugs, except for once. No one else except me has really complained, so I don't know what my problem is, but I've always pulled off at the boot, and never on the wire; always pulling straight off the plug, and never at an angle.

I do like the low resistance (measured always 50 ohms or less) and like that you can bend the plug terminal away from header tubes; they just weren't as durable as the OEMs, IMVHO. They do look a lot meatier than the OEMs though

Just my .02.

Always loved the MSD wires I put on my LS1 S10. Cleared the headers better and were very durable.

I thought about it jsut so I had red wires to match the engine cover, but don't expect any gains from them.

I ran TR55's for the longest time while it was stock/bolt-ons. then when I sprayed it, I went to TR6's, then pulled the spray, and the S/C will make good use of the TR6's
