Help finding nice cam for 418 stroker (low end torque monster)
I'm looking for a cam for a 418cui stroker engine. I want to stay n/a with a compression of at least 11:1 and 93 octane. Automatic transmition.
Here are my goals: - mild idle / as less lope as possible / Sleeper - massive low end torque - power evenly across the powerband / good throttle response Any links or further informations are highly appreciated. I think I heard of a guy in the LS-Forums who helps people to get the right specs. Does anyone have his contact? Thanks in advance |

I'd shoot for a higher compression. I'm at 12-1 on pump the compression will also bump up your Tq.

looks like your looking for a Lingenfelter cam the GT series are pretty stealthy and make good power. Give Andy a call at ADM he uses those cams.

If you are having that engine built, your engine builder should be able to help you pick a cam. If you want help otherwise, all the names mentioned so far are welll respected. I had Pat G. spec me a cam. He knows his stuff and asks for all the right details to make sure his recommendations fit the bill.
You can look at his form here to get an idea of the type and amount of info someone specing a cam properly should ask. http://www.guerragroup.com/#!copy-of-efi-tuning/c1mq5 Remember, its only in the forums can someone can recommend a cam after asking you the color of your car and what kind of dog you have.

I have probably the most time testing ls3 camshafts on dyno engines in the country. Shoot me over a pm exactly what your looking at doing & I'll help anyway I can. I think with all the camshafts I've tested I will have some data that can help you to find exactly what your looking for

I love this forum!
All the infos I was looking for. And yes - Pat G was the name I was looking for. But since I bought my Heads from Texas Speed (PRC) I'll shoot them a message as well! BTW - My current setup is a Livernois 1C stealth Cam and I just love this cam. Makes good power and keeps the car a true sleeper. Now that I get a new engine it would be the perfect time to try another cam wich benefits more from the added cui. But I'd love to keep the mild idle of the 1C cam. Here are 1C the specs: 218/229 .600"/.600" 117.5 |
