Rarest ZL1

When ordering what would be the rarest ZL1 to have? When it comes to options like color combo seats auto manual wheels RS or no RS etc....

I would love to have a strip down model with a rare color but I know that's imposible. I have'nt seen a white hood stripe yet is that going to be offered?

Nice Berger!

Anyway, there aren't that many options so I would think the most expensive will be the rarest (add all options, please). I don't think many will justify the cost of a 'fully loaded' ZL1. Not many people like the suede interior so that might be rarer. There is only a stripe delete option that I'm aware of - no other colors except black. Wheels are a toss-up since that will be one of the first places people spend money along with the auto trans. And I guess the least ordered color - whatever that is. These are my best guesses.

If you want to be rare on the ZL1, you will need to check off every single option available. Polished wheels, automatic, sunroof, suede interior, subwoofer, stripes, aluminum gas door, extended warranty, and anything else that is offered. Color? Pick the least picked color from the previous years that is currently available. Good luck!

The rarest package is usually either the most expensive and most desirable or the least desirable package. Ordering based upon what is rare does not inherently increase your resale value on a new car because that car may not necessarily be collectible. Of all Camaros right now, the rarest is probably an ABM 2010 Camaro LS with an automatic and 21" wheels. Off the top of my head, that would make the most sense because the color is rare, the trim is not ordered often, and the 21" wheels are very rare. Does this seem like a car that a lot of people would want to collect in the future? I'm thinking the SS is going to get a lot more glory.

For the ZL1, the same is probably true. Expect a rare ZL1 to be more stripped. Most people spending as much as that car will cost will probably want more equipment, including any premium packages or luxury features; therefore, a rarer ZL1 will have less of that sort of equipment. Color will be a factor. The rarest ZL1 will have the least popular color on it.

Unlike the good old days of COPOs and factory mistakes, new Chevys are not very custom and have superior quality control. Back in the day, there was the occasional mistake that could increase the value of the car, like a Z28 without badges. Nowadays, there aren't factory 454 COPOs or substantial factory mistakes. That's what makes rare classic cars valuable.

Go with one lime my car, cyber grey with orange stripes and orange interior. It sounds odd but it is BA. Just look up pics. All others nobody is going to know

If the SS's are any indication, a bare bones manual will probably be the rarest.

Any updated thoughts on what color ZL1 for 2012 has been built the most and which the least? A very unscientific perusal in my neck of the woods suggests dealer spec cars are running mainly black?

If you're looking for the most rare of ZL-1s there are 4 IBM cars built. This is a discountinued color. The only chance of getting one is via the raffle the Corvette museum is offering.

Other than that GM made the ZL-1 to be cookie cutter. So it will be tough to really say what is a rare combo in the line up.

I agree with armysig. Ownership of one of the 4 IBM cars will put you on the rarest ZL1 list. FWIW I have bought into the raffle.

I probably posted this in the wrong thread. I am interested, literally, in how many of each color were built for 2012...

The rarest is the hendricks carbon flash. 1 of 1 ibm four exist. Other than that. I doubt you will really find one that is rare of that caliber.

The rarest 5th gen i have seen is a 2010 ABM 1SS LS3 with gfx, 21" wheels and beige interior non RS.

pretty tough to beat that combo.

I wanted to match my 69 Z28 color scheme, so I had my insert painted white and had a white deck stripe made as well!
