5th Gen Camaro Painted Undercarriage

We recently had a customer come to us wanting something to put his car over the top. We have been talking about it for months. He wanted to paint the undercarriage of the car. Reason being is that the paint under the car is very poor quality from the factory. I tried talking him out of it due to the fact that i thought he would be spending more time cleaning the undercarriage than driving the car and enjoying it. So he finally talked me into it and here she is. We prepped the entire bottom side of the car to paint it and while we were at it we painted the mufflers and had some emblems airbrushed.

Here are a couple of before shots. As you can see most of the e-coat is showing through the yellow paint.

A base coat of white sealer.

And there you have it. A yellow undercarriage. Glad i am not the guy who has to maintain it.

we also added some spears to complement the spears on the hood and doors.

A pic of the exhaust fully painted and installed.

And a short video. This really gives you a idea of the final outcome. Please excuse the backround noise. I am not a good video editor.

It looks great. My only question is why would you want to paint the bottom of a car? not being an ass or anything I am just questioning

It will correct itself when you see it in the show mirrors under the car.

Trailer queen my @$$. I drive this bad boy all over including local, midwest and some National shows. Got over 42,000 miles on her. I just dont drive her in the winter thats all. As a result of road rash, we have had to go back under there and redo some things of course. Actually looks even better now if thats possible after the repaint last year. Pete does great work at Showstoppers !

I will admit it is a TON of work to keep it up looking nice. Alot of cleaning every month and you really have to watch out for the roads you are going to be on, sometimes you just have to take alternative routes.

I plan on handing the car down to my son and I dont want any rust in the underbody or frame when he gets it so I decided it was worth the expense and labor.
I think its time to start working on another project, this one is tricked out as far as I want to go with it.
