GPI 416 Stroker Max Package Build / Results Are In !!!

As some may know, my car was the 1st car to get the LS3 Max Package from GPI and the car performed great and made awesome power. Well the clutch started giving me issues right away. So back down to GPI for a new clutch, and of course you can't stop there.

Now, its getting a forged bottom end and stroked to a 416. Callies crank and rods and Wiseco pistons. We decided to bump the compression to about 12.5, Manley timing set, Melling oil pump, port match the MSD Atomic intake, and install new CenterForce Dyad clutch and MGW short throw shifter.

Car made 542 rwhp and 463 tq. last time, I'm putting the over/under at 585 rwhp and 540 tq. What's everyone's thoughts on reaching these numbers?

I have attached a few pics they sent me of the build progression.

I don't think you will be 540tq, maybe 490 to 510. That's still a healthy number by a long shot! Hell, your pre build numbers were pretty stout. Post the dyno sheet of before/after so we can see the curves!

Yeah, I agree the torque #'s maybe optimistic but going off their previous results on a race trucks engine dyno, I thought I may have a shot.

He was running .6 more compression and a touch less intake duration and made 685 and 650 flywheel power numbers, so I thought I may have a shot.

I may be leaving some power on the table until I upgrade the to 3" exhaust and a 102 or 105 throttle body, ( I will be adding the exhaust and axles later this year.)

As far as dyno sheets go, I will not have a before other than my current one that shows the 542 / 463. But, I will have 1 for the new build on the same Dyno just on a different day.

Either way, it is going the be one bad bitch, especially in the mid-range with the torque boost and the MSD intake.

OP, do you track the car? If so do you mind sharing 1/8, 1/4 ETs from old setup? I'm planning out my next steps and would love to see some track results.

I have not, car is a 1LE and is more setup for road course or autocross. If I decide to track the car , I will add a 17" conversion, a solid roller cam, and some type of high rise intake ( either Holley Hi-Ram or CID carb style ) of course if I do this I will have to add a cowl hood also.

Right now, I am just having fun with a weekend toy, and laughing at Hemi and Coyote owners scratch their heads and constantly ask about the set-up.

I don't know for sure the weight savings, only info I have found is that it is close to OEM weight. I have sent a email to Centerforce to try and get this info. I will keep you posted when I hear back from them.

Dude, Very Nice! I think your expectation will be very close to actual. I always heard ~ 2 hp gain per cui and the stroke change will send the torque to the roof.

Let us know how it goes!

Okay, got a little more info on the clutch. Weight wise it is about a push, flywheel is lighter but the twin disc adds a floater which is about a 1/4" thick.

The Dyad clutch is supposed to have really good ( close to stock ) street manners, but with a hell of a lot more holding capacity. It is rated up to 1300 LB/FT.

Just don't ever try to launch it via slipping heavily. I've read numerous stories about people slipping it and it getting toasted in short order.
