I ordered the 28 tires, and I'll complete the 3.73 swap as a winter project.
Regarding the 3.73 swap, if I were to purchase the complete carrier from GM, how difficult will it be to swap ZL1 carriers on the floor without the luxury of a lift? |

I'm not sure you can get a new ZL1 3.73 carrier from GM anymore, I believe that's discontinued. The swap could be done on jackstands - you'll want something to support/lift that ZL1 carrier, it's like 140lbs.

Summit had some dirt cheap for a little bit, but they are back up over 2k and since they show special order, I'm thinking you will never get them. For some reason Summit frequently lists discontinued GM parts as available, but once you order they never ship.
I got mine from Hawks on eBay. The swap is not complicated, but that diff weighs 140#. I've done it by myself, but having a second person makes it much easier and less sketchy.
