Shipping costs for wheels
How are some coming up with less than $200 fees to ship across country ? I am looking to ship four wheels with tires, estimating 40 lbs. per package, 36in. X 36in. X 12in. Arizona to NJ and getting quotes from UPS and FEDEX of over $400. Am I missing something ? Please advise.
Thanks a bunch !

Here's you're problem. I don't know of any wheels and tires for the Camaro that are 36".
If they are the factory size of 20" change this to 26 x 26 x 10 or 26 x 26 x 11. I just did a quick quote on UPS using these dimensions and it shows shipping to be around $250 for all 4. |

They're factory 18's and outside diameter with tire is approx. 29, so yes you're right, I am targeting to long and wide.
Still come up with nearly $300 shipping. Perhaps weight is off ? Used 45 lbs. as entry. I believe actual weight of new BFG 18 on these aluminum wheels are approx. 50 lbs.

i just shipped a set of 20" wheels a few days ago at UPS from Gulfport, MS to Pennsylvania. It cost me $175 shipping($25 more for packaging material). My box dimensions were 23 x 23 x 10 for the fronts and 24 x 24 x 12 for the two rears. The boxes for the fronts weighed 31lbs and the boxes for the rears weighed 34lbs. That also included Signature Confirmation for each box. If i would have dropped that it would have been about $17-$20 less.
Per wheel cost on Fronts : $37.50 Per wheel cost on Rears: $50.00 |

I think 300 is about right for wheels AND tires combined due to the heavy weight and extra handling charges. A lot of companies offer their employees discounts for either UPS or Fedex if they use the companies Fedex/UPS account number.
