Mass Air Flow Sensor

Is this located after my air filter. But before the throttle body?

Pull it out and use CRC Mass Airflow sensor cleaner-don't use carb cleaner.

Is it a good idea to spray them out routinely? With mass air flow cleaner

The connector on my ZL1 is different from what is shown on this video, it has a grey connector on the bottom, after I lift it up I pull on the connector and it doesn't unlatch!

Well sir, I don't have a ZL1, but you can contact NOT A 45 on this forum, he is a Chevy tech and helps out a lot of folks on here. Great guy!!

The ZL1 uses the same style MAF except that it is on the back side of the air intake tube. If you have a aftermarket cold air intake set up it could be anywhere along that tube. To the best of my knowledge, the aftermarket intakes still utilize the factory MAF. A lot of the connectors we use are difficult to disengage. You may need to remove the tube and turn it access the connector, then use a pic tool to disengage the lock.

Cleaning the MAF is something I rarely do. The only circumstance would be if I'm getting a higher gps reading then normal, and that sometimes can be caused by oil (from a over oiled filter), dirt, or even a small insect skewing the sensor.
