L99 + LTs/HFCs & stock catback...

Did a search & found some info, but...

Need some more sound clips.
need thoughts on drone
Need your experience with AFM (noise) with the combination.

I don't have my car yet, but know it needs some sound improvement. Not looking for real loud, just a noticible improvement. I bought some headers form Josh @ OTTP, and will need to make up my mind on which HFCs (2.5" or 3")... if I end up keeping stock catback...2.5 obviously. And if I end up not keeping stock catback, is there any reason to not have the 2.5"?

Thanks in advance

i have heard long tubes with hfc and stock catback in colorado. sounded pretty nice. still very quiet unless you hit the loud pedal pretty hard. goodluck with your search, you will love longtubes. i got my kooks installed a few days ago and was more than happy....my wife got jealous.

That's the combo I run, and it's only a wee bit louder than stock at idle, but if you get on it, it's much louder than stock. I like it.

theoretically these cars are meant to have LTs, no cats, and full 3 inch exhaust, unless you prefer otherwise. Why are you considering the stock catback? Because theres no real improvement (hp wise) to swappin it out?

Well, to answer your question... I am not looking for something too loud anyhow, and if there is little/no hp advantage, I don't see spending the cash. On top of that, all I hear is crap about drone and afm noise with aftmkt catbacks. I already have the headers because I got them cheap...wouldve done them eventually, and I know there is plenty of hp gain.

Here is a sound clip with LT and no cats and stock exhaust. No drone at all.

Amerimuscle: I may eventually. The HFCs that Josh sells are said to not throw codes due to the positioning of the o2...

Trw: thanks! Sounds great! How do you like it while driving (windows open)?

Im sure this isnt the first time you've heard this but the L99 benefits greatly from a tune, especially with basic bolt ons. no CEL cats, thats interesting. and that vid does sound pretty good. Well without a doubt the long tube plunge is always exciting regardless of tune/untune, aftermarket catback/stock catback, cats/no cats.
