Installing Borla catback "S" type exhaust...questions

Preparing to install a borla catback "S" type exhaust on a 2010 SS 6M.

1. Can this install be performed by myself ? Better with 2 people?

2. Does it take long? Easy or hard to install.

Sorry for the laziness with regards to researching this. This forum rocks so I figured a borla owner could help me speed up the install process.

Thanks all.........

make sure u have a lift because the back mufflers are huge or a pit in the garage
have a friend
make sure u have WD-40 laying around to put in between the hangers
and u need a flat hear screw driver too along with the 5/8 rench

Took me and my buddy about a half hour to do the install without a lift. Just got under her in the driveway. Probably could have done it myself in about an hour or so. Like he said above you will definitely need some WD40 or else you will have a very hard time getting the stock ones out of the rubber holders. If you have any questions just ask!

damn on the drive way! how the hell did u pull that off the mufflers are so big in the back? it took us that long because we took off the stock exhaust and put the new borla on piece by piece not all together at once it allowed us to place it better

If you have the M6 you might just as well save a bit of time and just get the axle back. There is very little difference in flow and it takes about an hour and saves about 1/2. Just fyi.

I would get the catback and remove the H pipe with an X pipe. Plus no cutting, just bolt that b*tch on.

I have not seen this comment prior. What are the differences between the auto and manual exhaust? I guess my question is why is the cat back good for the auto and not as much for the maual?

Thanks for your time,

the automatic exhaust has like a 4 foot resonator in the middle of the exhaust (where the manual "H" pipe is) so it cuts out the drone if you didn't tune out the AFM

Manual has more of a straight through flow that is very similar to installing the cat back. Seriously don't bother with the cat back unless you already bought it.

I did it myself with some 10" ramps. Its a pain to remove the rubber mounts the muffler is connected to. But other then that its easy to do. It was my first exhaust and it took me about 2 hours.
If you use a buddy I would say its a hour job topps
