What difference does it make?

I hate to tell people this but if a car has a blemish/flaw and it gets caught in QC they rework the damage they don't build you a new car.

If the issue is just with the bolt having tool marks and not the paint ont he hood then I think people just have too high of an expectation.

Now if the paint on the hood does not match the car then go in for waranty.

That's why the ZL1 was under QC...they must of taking your hoods off to inspect them. Easier than driving 500 or so cars in and out of the plant....only my thoughts

Wait, the ZL1's are having rub mark problems too?

I would demand my money back with interest! Then I would insist they build me a new car in any color I want plus give me a ten year warranty and fill my tank with 104 racing fuel and and and! Sorry got carried away! Its a car people! Bolts go on and bolts come off. Cars get dirty and marked up a bit. Sometimes they even break!

A $60k car with 256 miles since delivery. I know things happen, just wasn't expecting to see wear in this particular spot

Remember that supposedly part of the reason that these cars were held up was because of the hood inserts. My guess is that some cars had to have the hoods pulled and inserts removed/reinstalled.

I am curious as to what your expectations are in this research? Do you really think that the resale value will be affected down the road due to touch up paint on the bolts? Is there any visible damage or flaws on the hood itself?

I am trying to decide if I should look at the bolts on the car, perhaps Im not as concerned as I should be? What is the risk if I do have marks or touchup on my bolts/hinges?

I guess Im just not seeing what the concern is about specifically and wonder if I should be more concerned about an issue like this one.

The QC definately happened for a reason. So some finding problems or little defects is reasonable. If it looks like a bolt was just replaced or put back on with some type of flaw then live with it. Though I want a perfect car, I can understand if they had to correct something and left a mark than receive the car and having to take it in and have the dealer fix it later on down the road

I think you hit the nail on the head - heard that there was a problem with warpped inserts - 468 also has same problem - car is so GREAT that I'm willing to over look this little thing - honestly, I'm glad that I even got a 2012 MY
