Ok I don't know just flame me! Camaro for NASCAR?
I'm going to admit something,
I'm not a race fan so here it is. I'm sure everyone would be talking about it if it was possible but why couldn't the new Camaro work in NASCAR, they used the Lumina and Taurus years ago. Why not? I know they don't use the real cars but the body look is what I'm thinking about. There I said it! Hit me I can take it!

From what I understand it's because of the size of the vehicle. It has to be considered a full size car or something like that.
**Please note the above information is completely and utterly hearsay and could be so far from the actual truth that some would consider it on the borderline of retardation. You may actually be a little dumber after reading this post.

I'm with you about this year but in general is it possible with the NASCAR rules?

I no longer remember the specs, and i think most of them don't matter because of the COT anyway, But every car has to be available in a sedan to be considered. Also it'll have to have sold over a certain quantity, which it hasn't yet.
Personally, I'd love to see the nationwide (*cough*Busch*cough*) series run ponies. |

They did actually consider using the camaro, mustang, and challanger for the nationwide series cars. Toyota nixed that idea stating they didn't have a rear drive pony car to compete. You can check out jayski.com for more info on that. Do a search in the nationwide series pages.

IROC style.
Car of Tomorrow, the current car, is brand new and very safe. New higher rpm operating range. Camaro 5 is totally different from COT of course. But is probably the safest sports coupe every made by an American company (*Stablitrak 4 the win). |
