How accurate is the dealer's update ? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Called my dealer today for an update, he gave me 3100 but Viz just gave me 1100. Did this happen to anyone here, what do the pros think ?

I actually got more info from the wonderful people on this site than my salesman. I sometimes wonder if he even checks on it.

same thing happened to me.. but it equaled out in a couple of days...

Like right now, my dealer has me at 3300 with no TPW..
and Viz has me at 3000 with a TPW of 8-17-09
I'm cool with it.. I have a TPW, so the numbers mean nothing to me now, until I reach 3800 then I will follow a lot closer..

Listen to Viz..He speaks the truth. Most salesman with the exception of Camaro5 sponsors are an unreliable source. I had to call my saleswomen today and tell her my car was built, she had no clue.

My car is shipped... and my dealer still doesn't even know the VIN.

100% for the peeps here. In fact, my dealer told me today that they will not track a car until 10 days AFTER it ships. Wouldn't give me a ETA, even after when I told them when the train was dropping it off...

The work that is done on this site, including the spreadsheets, are a godsend.

Yeah, this forum is a life saver, kudos to the mods and all the members who have shared their views and experiences. It has been of great help.

I was wondering though if the info on the updates in maintained on a GM server.......if so, why does it show up differently when the dealer accesses this record as opposed to someone on the forum who does the same, for example : ThunderSS

This points to either the dealer not telling the truth or something else ????

Wonder if there is someone here on the forum from any dealership who can clarify this point. Thanks again for all your responses

If your dealer enters and prints your workbench number, it's 100% accurate
If your go with what the dealer tells you over the phone, listen to the viz

My salesman gave me a TPW of 7-27...low and behold it was built on 7-27. He called me on 7-28 to tell me that my car was already in transit. the next i found my car in the spreadsheet of the built and bayed thread.

some salesmen suck but others have the right info. basically, all the info was in par with the Viz's info

My dealer doesn't know anything about production status numbers. They will get me a vin when available, nothing more. Ridiculous

He updates me often with actual copies of the GM Bench order. He was a couple steps ahead of VIZ this week.
VIZ is so overworked!
