Factory battery just died, not bad for a 2011. Just wondering what brand of battery some of y’all are using.

Oh Lord......thats like asking what's the better header or best oil........or why the sky is blue. Pick one of the proper size and go with it. I got mine at Tractor Supply for like $100 or so.

Biggest thing, make sure you check the manufactured date. You want a fresh battery, not one that has sat on the shelf months.

My 2010 still has it's original battery... Once it dies, I'll buy another AC Delco battery. Can't beat that performance.

I have thought about going that route but have also thought if you were traveling it would be harder to find a replacement than getting one from auto zone or advanced. Just kicking around ideas.

And the duralast battery in my jaguar is 10 years old, the BMW factory battery lasted eight years. The ac Delco battery is six years old and going fine. I don't think the brand makes a difference. I think conditions it's exposed to makes the biggest difference. That and like I said above. Check the manufactured date.

What do all the batteries above have in common? They are all trunk mounted batteries. Not having the engine bay heat makes them last much longer.

Most batteries are made by Johnson Controls. Pick a place that rotates their battery stock. I personally went with another Ac Delco.

I hadn't really considered the truck location being the reason they last so long, but I bet your right. Makes good sense.

Went with Advanced auto gold battery, 3 year free replacement and got 25% by ordering online, got $170 battery for $130. Pretty good deal

There are only a few battery manufacturers. Every just pays to put their name on them. Same as oil filters.

The only real differences would be between a AGM battery versus a lead acid battery. The rest is subjective.

Some owners get a few years out of a battery where as some who trickle charge them or keep battery tenders on them when the car is not running get more time out of them.
