After reading this post it looks like mixed reviews on this topic. Not that I'm disagreeing with the 6X9 information you posted, but my alpine 6X9s sound pretty good in my setup. I'm very pleased.

Interesting read . Thanks . I have JL 6 x 9's in the back that's why I asked. I don't run a Amp or sub. So for now I'm happy . I don't usually turn up the volume to the point where My speakers would distort.

This has been a very informative thread. I really like to replace factory speakers in all my vehicles and didn’t know about 6x9s.

Looks like I won’t be replacing the speakers in my Camaro because apparently I’d have to rewire it but if there’s a workaround I’ll defin go with 6.5s.
