This will help sell more 'Stangs....NOT! (09' Mustang Roof)

http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-new...p-ar48871.html

Add another 2K to the already overpriced vehicle? I'll bet this option lasts for one year and then is dropped due to "lack of consumer interest".

Why didn't they just get the same contractor (or any other one for that matter) to put sunroofs in? Sunroofs typically run from $800 - $1800 anyway....it would have been cheaper and a much better option that more people would pay for.

Its actually a nice option thats unique.. I can see it boosting sales.. one of the biggest complaints about the back seat is its soo dark, due to the 7 inch thick b pillar and 3inch window.

I honestly think that it's an awsome feature. And one that will sell relatively well. If the Camaro Coupe's roof was as bland as the Mustangs, I'd expect a similar option on our car. Hell, maybe it will.... But luckily, it's not bland in the least

Too much money for a peice of glass. And, you'd better be able to put a cover under the glass like you are able to w/ t-tops in case of those extrememly hot and sunny days.

you mean like this? :p

Made of tinted “privacy glass,” the roof will be able to block many of the infrared rays which create heat and damage interiors, while providing a panaoramic vista upward. There is also a blind which can be rolled into place to block the sun entirely. Made of safety glass, the roof will not create sharp edges in the event it should be broken in an accident

^^That's pretty cool. Sliding shade...tinted glass...not bad, not bad. Now, I'd just have to check one out to see for myself.

If I were to go with a hard top coupe I'd want that option.

Same here. If no sunroof option was available, I'd definitely take that as an option. Unique and interesting.

Actually the interesting thing about it is the roof of the Volt concept. It too is almost all glass and I thought, "no way that gets into production". Now I think it may.

I've been wondering if Ford would ever make good on the glass roof of the concept.

Factory glass roof (2009 mustang)

This was probably already posted. But if not, I thought it was interesting that an option like this is actually going to exist. I guess that's the sunroof if you want it.

that company has been doing the glass roof since it came out. not really a difficult thing to do really the top is just a piece of sheet metal. the shade is cool though I'd get one if i were buying a rustang with a hard top.

Well, TTops usually cost around $1000. And a sunroof can run over that depending on it's design.

So for the entire roof to be a glass panel, I'd pay $2000.
