High beam THUD???

Not sure if i should be worried or not, but every time i hit my high beams i hear a loud thud inside the cabin. Can anyone tell if you also hear that and if its normal or not. Any feed back would be great.

I don't hear a thud... you might want to get that checked.

It is normal... That's the "flap" lifting in the HIDs to expose the entire bulb. It shouldn't be obnoxious. Have someone else flip the lights on; you'll hear it more outside the vehicle than inside.

You're most likely more sensitive to it than most. My guess is that if people (with HIDs) turned all other audio sources off (like, the radio), they'd hear it, too. I characterize it as a "clunk". Does it sound like you just drove over a pothole, essentially? If it is no louder than that, then... perfectly normal!

Still sounds a little loud for that though, that's not a big flap to move... honestly I'd be upset if I could hear it at all... also, I apologize that I didn't notice you have an RS... I don't.

Anybody with a RS car will hear that as you have bi-xenon headlights. Its not a big flapper but it moves insane fast and under some decent power as its moved by a solenoid.

What a relief. That makes perfect sense because it does sound like a flap.

It should not be excessively noisy, but you will hear it "flap".
