HPE550 Mail-Order Thoughts

So as i sit here waiting for my car to come (who knows when) I am beginning to think I'm crazy. I haven't even driven the LS3 yet but I already want more. My original plan was to put 10K down and finance the rest to help get approved for a loan (1st). That apparently isn't gonna happen and I'm getting co-signed so I don't feel like I really need to put that much down. I'm now thinking of putting down maybe 15% and buying the Mail Order HPE550 kit from Hennessey (I don't really care about rims and stickers and can figure out suspension upgrades later).

Here are my pros to going HPE550 Mail Order:
Engineered by an outstanding company.
Using awesome parts many would otherwise buy alone.
3/36000 mile warranty (engine only/powertrain? That would be good to know).
All-in-one package so it'll work well, proven #'s.
Insane power while maintaining it ability to be a daily driver.

Cons:
More expensive than buying components only (but you get a warranty).
Is it too much power for street?
???

Now as far as install goes, I can't find anyone on this forum who has done the HPE kit themselves (although there are maggie installs). Now I've worked on all sorts of vehicles from a 1:10 scale nitro RC, quads and bikes, Mazda6 bolt-ons and I do work as an Apple Genius so I spend about 20 hours a week turning screws. I know my welding is weak so I would have a shop do the catback, but everything else should be manageable with some hand-tools, Dos Equis and an afternoon, right?

I hope this isn't too long, but I think I need some guidance from others who have either the HPE550 or just other Camaro nuts. If I do go with the kit it is definitely gonna suck up my mod money for several months but I guess I'm trying to decide if its gonna be a wise choice.

its your coin...but you can also go with a magnusun blower or vortec and you can purchase a 3yr 36k mile warranty also from them.....

maybe that route would be cheaper, look around..
another thing just google the vendors name with BBB and look at other forums and make sure you are happy to purchase from a reputable company......

there are many vendors selling a bunch of stuff, you just gotta look out for your interst and your money

I went with the same dilemma and ended up buying each piece individually and saved thousands. They want nearly $8k for labor and I can have it done for around $2500 and that is putting a cam in also. You are paying for their name and they use products you can buy from alot of guys on this forum. Just my 2 cents.
