Not the quality I expected

Replacing the 3.6L timing chain twice in 40k miles is bad. Being stuck with the repair bill because it's out of warranty is worse. Chevy sent me a letter saying "Total customer satisfaction is important to us" but offered no assistance even though other vehicles with this engine have extended coverage. It was a mistake coming back to GM but I won't make the same mistake twice.

Shitty GM quality and not picking up the slack for a known major defect. I feel for the guy...... That is unacceptable honestly.

Just saying how disappointed I am with the long term quality and the lip service of Total Satisfaction. It's not unreasonable to expect engines to last far more miles before major service issues, like in the other cars I've owned.

While I can't say anything bad about my Camaro, GM has been plagued by poor quality in their higher miled vehicles especially. The 3.6 engine has been a disaster for timing issues in every vehicle that they have put it in and the Terrain and Equinox with the 2.4 is equally as problematic.

So what happened that your timing chains keep going bad?
I mean theres a whole lot of Camaros driving around with alot more miles than that and they've never had to have their timing chains replaced even once.
Please elaborate.

One of the reasons I have a 2018 CR-V keeping my Camaro company and not an Equinox. You can instantly see the difference in quality once you sit in both.

This is a known problem that plagued this V6 engine even before the Camaro. Most of my driving is around town and few miles per year, I change the oil every 3-4k miles, and I don't race or rev high so I don't understand why it happened so early. I was told (by someone I promised not to name) the first warranty repair followed the GM procedure which was to replace only the chain and not the other related parts (tensioner, etc..). By not replacing everything related it was inevitable to happen again.

Sorry for your problems but your post is worthless. You own a Camaro . What freaken engine do you have in it? LLT or a V8 . We aren't clairvoyant.

This is a known issue with the LLT, which I believe he is talking about.

Does the 2012+ "LFX" V6 have the same issue?
