Muffler delete

Does anyone have sound clips of a muffler delete and long tubes with cats on a zl1. Kind of curious .

LOUD NOISES!!

Sorry, I don't have a clip but having run that setup on my 14 1LE I can tell you, it will be louder than you'll be able to get away with. Meaning, You'll be heard at WOT from ridiculous distances. If the cops in your area are needing to meet a quota that month, they're gonna come get you.

All the best,

Jared Royce

I have a friend that has a Pontiac G8 that is "built", and has a similar setup. I live in a real quiet neighborhood. I could hear him almost exactly a half mile away when he was arriving and when he left. He was even trying to "creep away"when he left and you could still hear the car a half a mile away, and that was downhill! It sounded bad ass, but I would not do it on my car after hearing it in person.

I'm looking specifically for a zl1 with a muffler delete. I've heard ss camaros and 1le camaros with it done. I'm planning on doing it to my car and was hoping to hear what it would sound like before I do it.

These guys told you it is loud, and it is. I had my 13 ZL1 done like you are asking and wish I would have taken a video of it before I sold it but it is loud at idle and it is super loud at full throttle. If loud is what you are after that is what to do. Go to youtube and do a search. I found some on there before I did my car the way you are asking and you will get a pretty good idea what it sounds like.

Thanks for the info I kept trying to look on you tube but it kept linking me to ss and 1les. I have a buddy with a muffler delete but he has no long tubes it wasn't too bad. Actually I want a little louder but I will try it out to see how much louder it gets might have to add some mufflers to it . I'm mostly doing it for the cosmetics.

If you haven't done LTH on the ZL1 yet do those first. In my opinion without cats it is pretty much perfect sounding like that. No doubt in my mind that if you do muffler delete too it will be wayyyyy too loud.

Cats will cut down the sound a bit, I know without them it sounds great. It is ALMOST too loud with LTH and no cats. ALMOST.

I would definitely not go any louder, but I like the way it sounds.

I have 1 7/8 headers, cat delete, and muffler delete. If you like to be heard from blocks away while at cruising speeds....if you like to intimidate every car around you from the idle sound alone......if you dont want to be able to converse with your significant other while driving down the highway......if you want your exhaust to set off car alarms when driving through a parking garage, then I suggest you go this route. Me, I knew exactly what I was getting into, and i LOVE it. Then again, I have three other vehicles to drive when I dont want the window shaking, attention getting sound of my ZL1. Honestly, i drive my ZL1 more than any other of my cars just so I can hear it, the sound of my cam and exhaust set up screams AMERICA!!!

I see you're in Houston, I live in Dallas. How do you pass inspection without cats around this sumbich? LOL...I have a muffler delete on my Zl1, but haven't touched the headers yet. I actually want it louder but am definitely not running without cats ever again. Did that on my 2007 Mustang and after a while it's just too much.
