No worries you still gain 125 over your base line numbers on 91 octane.

I offer this package with a 91 octane tune as well.

Thank you for your interest in JRE performance packages.

how did you manage to sneak past tech without a rollbar and back up that sub 11.49 a second time? i hear about people getting through tech initially, but then once they are "caught" going faster without the required safety equipment they are booted. maybe that particular track is more lenient?

regardless, that is a really sweet package and great driving!

new cars have new rules concerning safety equipment. Read the IHRA/NHRA rule book concerning these rules. Many factory cars would need roll cages to run as 11.49 & faster is really "slow" for new car standards. 10.0 sec & 135mph is the new standard for 2008 & newer cars.

I have the 2015 rulebook, it says that at summit racing series street legal events you can run a 2008 and newer factory vehicle with an unmodified chassis without meeting rollbar / rollcage requirements to a 9.99 ET.

http://www.nhra.com/userfiles/file/T...entedbyAAA.pdf

Additionally, requirements and specifications for Street Legal are
the same as those for the Summit Racing Series with the following
exception. Unaltered 2008 OEM model-year and newer production
cars running slower than 9.99 and 135 mph do not have to meet
the requirements and specifications for the Summit Racing Series
except for the following: Convertibles and T-tops must meet Summit
Racing Series roll-bar and roll-cage requirements, All drivers must
meet the Summit Racing Series helmet and protective-clothing
requirements.

The rulebook also says:

ROLL BAR
Roll bar mandatory in all cars (including T-tops) running 11.00
(*7.00) to 11.49 (*7.35), in convertibles running 11.00 (*7.00) to
13.49 (*8.25), and in all dune-buggy-type vehicles running 12.00
(*7.50) seconds and slower. Permitted in all cars. See General
Regulations 4:10, 10:6.

As I read it, the rule is that only in summit racing series street legal style events is this new "roll bar requirement change" in effect; and at all other venues the 11.49 rule is in effect.
Does anyone else see it in a different way?

you are 100% correct, just left out the critical piece that applies to this specific situation (the car must be "unaltered"). that is why i asked the question to Ted because maybe he has more insight into the interpretation of "unaltered" by the dragstrip he was at.

There have been discussions about this before. The term "unaltered" refers to body/firewall but is written vague as to leave it up to individual tracks for their discretion.
Many if not most tracks allow 2008 and newer cars with modications power wise to participate in Test and tune events as long as they fall below the 9.99 and 135 guidelines.

Ted, are there any plans on running this combo again in good weather? I'm guessing you would run 10.6s at sea level. I also noticed that a hx wasn't part of this package, does this car have one?

Because this is a multi purpose car, Daily driver, out to dinner, Road coarse and drag race, I don't know if I will get back out this year, Winter seems to be closing fast here in the Northeast.

I expect 10.8 127 in good weather.

Aftermarket Heat exchangers do nothing to improve performance.

The Factory heat exchangers are sufficient to recover and expel all the heat absorbed by the tiny intercooler in the blower.

IAT cooling limitation is in the intercooler Brick not the Heat exchanger.

Aftermarket heat exchangers Upset the Balance of the Cooling Pack.

What is a cooling Pack?

An Engineered total cooling system to take car of your engine Coolant, Engine oil, Trans oil, Rear diff oil, A/C, Power steering and brakes.

We don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul and Paul still gets no money.

Ted.

Ted- what was your experience with Lebanon Valley and having no roll bar? Redlineviper above made the point that the rule is vague to allow each track their own interpretation... Does Lebanon Valley have an interpretation or did it just never come up?

Again congrats on the awesome run. Very cool your daily driver is able to run that time!

Being that I rented the track and brought 50 cars with me they tend to look the other way
