All Season Tires Suggestion...?

I live in NY, and I do not want to risk driving my car on the Summer Pirelli tires.

This is my first muscle car, and I am not well versed in cars to begin with. Can anyone suggest a decent all-season tire set to purchase. Preferable one that won't cost me an arm and a leg...but I don't want something that's cheap quality. Maybe middle of the line?

Thanks!

If you are going to drive this everyday in the winter though, an all-season isn't good enough imho.

Tirerack has a set (17" Winter Tires and Rims) for your Camaro 17" for about 1000, which includes the Tire Pressure Sensors. Check them out.

Got all seasons on my 2LT and going to order winter tires tomorrow from Tirerack.com. A little too hard to get around on the stock all seasons.

I got Toyo Proxes 4s on my 1SS, LOVE them, They are very good in rain and light snow.

On days like today I take my wife's 2010 Equinox and park the Camaro but otherwise it is on the road daily...

ide also look into continentals new dws extreme tire. just bought a set of the continental dws 315/35/20s for the 2010. very sweet looking tire for the price. not to mention the tires life cycle will be much more than that of a nitto or pirelli .

All-seasons don't do great in snow or summer, they do good. The best for winter is winter tires. Summer tires are for temps above freezing, but I would say 40 degrees minimum. I have 18" Blizzak 225 width snows and with 150 pounds in the trunk, and I go through deep snow like anybody else. As long as I am not on a hill, which I make sure I don't get my self into that situation.

Hmm, I was just looking at a set from TireRack. They are called Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Rears are 275/40/20, and the fronts are 245/45/20 and they claim to be Z rated all season tires.

I'd be really curious as to how these tires ride (noise/road comfort) compared to the OE Pirelli tires. Hell, $120 less a tire might be worth buying a set of rears just to find out since I typically go through a set of tires once a year.

On most of the reveiws I've read for this tire, the first thing the owners usually comment about is how quiet and smooth these tires were compared to their OEM tires. I have not heard from any Camaro owners yet since Continental only recently offered the tire in Camaro SS sizes. I would think we should be seeing some reports here on Camaro5 soon. My guess is that they will be quieter and a little smoother and give up some handling performance to the Pirelli's. The Pirelli is a pretty good performing tire IMO except in the cold.

I have the DSW's, and a few others too if you search. They do ride quiet. The car is almost a DD, as I drive my truck when it the weather is really bad. The DSW's are great all seasons, but we are using them as a winter tire here in Indy. If you are going to be driving in a lot of snow, daily, then you truly need a SNOW tire. All seasons will help get you through that slush-snow mixture and heavy rain days. I will switch back to the Pirelli at the beginning of April.

Since I'm not taking this car to the track on weekends (its my daily driver), I think I could give up some performance for ride comfort and longevity. I go through a set of tires every year due to the number of miles I put on my car, so I'm planning early. The stock OE Pirelli PZeros were over $400 a tire for the rear tires alone. If I can half that cost per year, I'd be pretty damn happy. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for all the input guys. That's awesome. Still reading up on the tire suggestions. I will have 2 cars, my current one being a FWD car. So although my Camaro won't be a daily driver, it will be used often. But I am not looking for the hassel of swapping out tire sets for Summer / Winter. I am just looking for a good All-Season set that will do me good year round. I know they won't be as good as Winter-Only tires, but I don't plan on driving my Camaro in the snow. I'll do that in my Toyota. :-)
