Cant get rid of exhaust leak...

I'm putting my stock cats back on after removing the Solo Hi Flow (preparing to sell the car) but it seems the passenger side has a small exhaust leak at the point it connects to the manifold. (I can hear it, and it bubbles a bit with soapy water) It feels properly tightened down but yet its still leaking. Any tips on how to get it to stop leaking?

Did you use new gaskets? Also may try leaving the down stream end loose until the manifold end is tightened.

I reused the originals since they did not appear worn at all. I guess I can try replacing them. I did have the down stream end loose while I hooked up the manifold end also.

Almost has to be gasket then. Good luck and let us know what you find.

OK, I finally got around to working on the car again...

I took the passenger side cat back off since that is where the sound was strongest. I found that the studs that bolt the cats to the manifold where not all the way in. This was making it so that no matter how tight the nut on top got, the thing wasn't sealing.

Once I fixed the studs (7mm socket fits them) and bolted it back up its all nice and quiet again.
