Good Deal or Not?
I was searching corvettes for sale in Texas and found a used one, let me say this , i first hand know nothing about vettes except, that ZR1 and GS are the top notch vettes and my question is about this vette is, What are it's specs is the price good, how is the mod/performance on this car and any other great info.
What i found it is a 2004 Corvette Z06 for Sale @ 27991$ 18850 Miles 6 - Speed Manual Black on Black with leather and blacked out rims Market Price shows @ 30,003$ I was wanting to upgrade to a brand new 2SS/RS but the 45k Sticker is huge, and so i found this nice looking vette for around 30k with only 18k miles, Tell me if this is a good deal or not for the buck. In couple months i'm thinking about going to check it out and test drive it.

Actually, depending on the mods and condition of the car that is not a bad price.

405 HP on the C5 Corvette Z06. Nice handling car. Will want to take a good look at it for excessive wear and tear as they sometimes tend to be abused. Could probably offer 1-2k less and walk away with it.
BTW the roof is "fixed" on the Z06 vs the Coupe. If I were you I would drive both and see which feels more comfortable to you. The two cars have completely different feel. My 1998 Corvette feels WAY different than my 2012 Camaro. Personally my recommendation would be to look at a 2010 SS Camaro which would be better technology and around the same $$. |

2004 is the previous generation (C5) Corvette.
I owned a C5 Corvette and currently own a C6 Corvette and a C5 Camaro. In my opinion, the C6 Corvette is better than the C5 Corvette in every way. I would easily take any C6 Corvette over any C5 Corvette. The improvement in quality of the interior alone is worth it. Also, the 2004 Z06 Corvette has the 405hp LS6 engine. From 2005 to 2007, the base C6 Corvette has the 400hp LS2 and delivers performance close to the older Z06. From 2008 to now, the base Corvette has the LS3 at 430hp. You can do the math. I haven't looked at Corvette prices for a while, but it would not surprise me if you can find a nice C6 for near the price of the car you're looking at. And since this is a Camaro forum, I will add that I would probably take a C5 Camaro SS over any C5 Corvette. The overall quality of the newer Camaro is just so much improved over the older Corvettes. I probably would not have said this before I bought my Camaro, but it has won me over. Finally as for price, if you are ready to buy, there are some very good deals out there on new Camaros. I bought my 2SS/RS with polished aluminum wheels and Hurst shifter for $31,000 - brand new. It's a 2011 model that had been on the lot for a while. They wanted to move it, and I was ready to buy on the spot. Good luck in your shopping. |
