Between the two cars it is a drivers race but the ZL1 has gobs more hp and about 600 or so more lbs

Only way to tell is line them up and run
I think its closer to 800-1000, those early 2000 vettes were light as heck. Even the current Z06 is like 3100-3200 lbs. The ZL1 is about 4100

The 2004 ZO6 with the lightened windshield and carbon fiber body panels option is under 3100lbs so yeah its closer to 1000lb difference and why the 1/4 times are so close. If you look at the fast list for both cars they are like mirror images of each other.

Exactly, corvettes performance have always been based on a light weight design

Who wins at Road Atlanta?
On street tires the ZL1 will easily take it 9/10 guys. Have you driven a Corvette down the track on street ties ? There is NO weight on the back and they're squirrely as hell and have little to no traction and will break sideways easily.

Slicks/DR's on both it's drivers race.

my stock 295's never stood a chance with stock power. it would be an interesting race though.

My Grand Sport is much more controlled going down the 1/4 mile than my Camaro was stock vs. stock.

That's on Gen 1 GY EMTs too.
