We have been told in the past that our Dyno Jet is somewhat conservative, but we have it calibrated at least twice a year. For reference, a stock LS7 Z06 and stock Shelby GT-500 makes 440 RWHP, a stock LS2 manual trans vette makes about 340 RWHP.

Hope this helps.

Have you guys ever tested an LX car?

A 5.7L typically makes 270-280 RWHP and 6.1L SRT8 typically makes 365-370 RWHP stock.

There's a big lack of important info about the dyno run.

Engine temp, ambient temp, engine oil temp, correction factors, how fresh < read tight due to low miles > is the motor, IAT sensor reading, wide band O2 probe numbers...?? Any knock retard noted? Was the engine referencing the "good" or "bad" gas timing table? Was traction control off? What percent, if any, was the fuel ethanol enriched? 91 or 93 octane?

I'm sure the pass on the dyno was done to get straight results. It just helps to know all the variables before a dyno reading is all that meaningful.

I don't see reason to get all worked up.

The engine was at normal operating temperature (coolant temp around 220), SAE correction factor, 1,000 miles, traction control has to be off to run on the dyno, 93 octane fuel, and a/f wasn't logged, we were just doing power pulls.

Those numbers seem about right to me, considering the LS3, M6, and IRS, and only 1k miles on the odometer.

15 percent is the standard loss. it seems a lot expect their wheel hp to be real close to the flywheel.

My '05 went to a dyno 1 time. On 2 pulls, it put down a best of 323 hp/314 lb. ft. torque. In case other details about the Camaro video are revealed, here's some other info on my run: 74.36* temp, 29.83 in-Hg, 40% humidity, & SAE 0.99

It should have the T56. The T6060 didn't start showing up until the C6 Z06, GT500s started coming out.

Compared to the SRT8, again maybe it's the gearing

What is the gearing for the manual SS anyway, The SRT8 gearing is 3.92 axle ratio with 20 inch rims

The R/T is 3.73 with 18 inch Rims

That number is ok. With bolt-ons (air intake, high flow exhaust, headers) and a good tune you should be able to hit 400 rwhp.

Those numbers are great! How many of you complainers actually own a car w/ 400+ horsepower? You won't know the difference between 10 or 15 HP while you're getting used to keeping the tires hooked to the road. Once you're used to it, then let the mods begin! Besides, look at the performance numbers instead, 13.0 quarter mile. from what i read that's faster than the SRT8 (13.3) and almost as quick as the GT500 (12.9). If you're a good driver, you'll hold your own against both those cars.

AS an old drag racer I see the numbers on the reviews and something looks a bit off.

The 1/4 time seems a little slow for the trap speed show. 111 MPH trap speed. I would think with a great lauch the car should run low 12.90's.
Also with a trap speed of 111 I would think the rear wheel horse power would be more like 380

Just my thoughts from watch a bunch of timed runs over the years.

I dont think they are bad at all for stock #'s. The SRT8 got 356 RWHP stock so we are ahead of the game there. http://www.dragtimes.com/Dodge-Chall...lip-15527.html
