The higher revving 302 was a much different motor with very different characterstics than the 350.You can argue till the cows come home about the HP of the 302 vs the 350, what you can't argue about is the big difference in redline and max RPM.

Yep, the 302 loved to rev. It did not have big power without the dual quad, cam, and headers. The Z28 was a little lighter than the big block cars, so it performed well with less power and torque. Another benefit is that it was a little less front heavy. Balance.

Back in the day the base 302 was faster than a 350/300 I agree, but not the higher horsepower 396es in a straight line. On a road track it was a different story.

Bottom Line; the 1LE is a very good 1LE. Add the LS7 to the 1LE and it is a very good Z28.

It would be awesome. But i do not think they will build that right now.
