Clipping a birds wings doesn't prevent it from completely flying. They can still fly short distances but with far less control and more flapping of the wings than normal. Not to mention clipping feathers is almost like clipping your finger nails, it is only short term as the feathers grow back.

Didn’t know they grow back. Lady next door had some giant white bird that could get on top of the chandelier in the foyer like 30’ up and never flew back down. That’s what I assumed happened with the one that outside.
