Bye Bye GT500, Hello 2010 Camaro SS

Hey guys been working with my dealer on a killer deal for trading in my GT500 and Getting a camaro L99 2SS/RS silver with black stripes. I was going to wait for a z28 but deals on these SS are crazy right now! 0.9 % financing on left over 2010's! Looking for something a little better for a daily driver and the camaro is it. My first mods I plan on doing is a dyno tune from justin @ vmp and 3.73 gears. can't wait to get back into heated seats, and a sunroof !!!

what made you decide on the change? I'm just curious because I always wondered what the GT500 would be like for a dd. I grew up with fords and mustangs but decided to go with the camaro in the end but I sometimes wonder what life would be like with the GT500.

Wow as im a 100% Gm guy only and would never consider driving a Stang I have to ask what made you step from a 500hp+ Stang to a "SS" ?

I'm guessing the looks of the car by all means.

I would have gone with the Camaro also however im a Camaro guy.

Most people would probably say you are nuts and that you are stepping back.

either way congrats and enjoy the NEW Car

I mean a few factors are into it, I mean better mpg, lower monthly payment, I don't really street race or anything so theres no point in having that much power as a dd, I mean I drive the 2010 camaro pacecar at Daytona international speedway and that car is a blast to drive and I love taking it everywhere. The car will also be cheaper to maintain.

My GT500 was putting down (not very well) 557 RWHP with an intake, dyno tune, pulley. Although it was a very fun car, the interior rattles so bad (ask any s197 owner) the stereo in it is junk. Im glad ford finally fixed the interior in there new cars 2010+ but I just don't like the new looks of the rear-end.

I shouldn't be saying all this but cause im going to get flamed by 16 year old mustang GT owners but a camaro SS is a much better dd.

Congrats on the purchase. I am still holding out for a Z28. If by next summer there is still no word I will be getting a 2012 SS. Updated interior and possibly more HP.

The 2011 GT500 is very tempting though.

*cough*downgrade*cough*

the SS might be a much better DD then the 2009 GT500 but i would never go back after upgrading to the 2011 GT500. (then again, it should be... it's a lot more expensive)

You'll love the heated seats. They heat you butt and lower back up nicely. You'll have to turn it down to keep you buns from getting too hot. I love starting my day with warm buns (and I live in Florida).

And the L99 can haul axx. Mine ran 12.9 @ 108/109 mph with just a tune.
