I know it's a small item, but I think I would like see the antenna at the back of the roof painted body color. Anybody else like that idea?

Thought this was a can of worms before... Some say yes some say they wish they can take it off and others dont care.. I would like to see it painted to match but I dont really care

Well... I think I'm fine with it either way.... I'm sure there is some way to have it painted.... the problem is its prob. plastic or something

IMO there will be people who want to get it painted due to the black antenna being in conflict of their color choice, (say, someone who ordered a bright color with or without white or SIM stripes ). Others won't care if it "clashes" or not.

Then there's the people who got Black and CGM... which I think the antenna will look awesome. Not to mention those with black stripes with just about any color.

With that being said, if I had ordered other than CGM and black stripes or plain Black, (2nd choice), then I would have thought about painting it, but... I really don't need to.

I based my body color selection solely on the color of the antennae.

I would have liked to have seen it body colored, but it would never affect my decision on whether or not to buy a car or not.

I probably would have gotten black anyway, but i was agonizing over the decision when I found out the antenna would be black. That sealed my color choice. I don't think i've ever seen an antenna of this style that was not body colored and i'm not a fan of it...

You are right, it's a small item but they really should paint the chintzy looking antenna, particularly for the RS appearance package. They paint the roof ditches on the RS but not the antenna that sticks out like a sore thumb.

I see a relatively short list of issues that will get will get brought up over and over until GM takes care of them with an update. Nav, HUD, full ABL and painting the antenna are probably the top four, and while painting the antenna is the least complicated to actually do it's also the one on that list that has the greatest chance of not happening by MY 2011 IMO so I wouldn't hold your breath. (I know I neglected to mention the Z28, that's a whole different ball game though)

Think of the 4th gen Z28s. For the first couple of years, you had your choice of a black roof and side mirrors, or, a black roof and side mirrors. No matter the body color.

(Personally I liked the 2-tone look on that car anyway)

Yup. Personally, I like that the shark fin breaks up some of the body color. I'm not sure I'd like it body colored in the long run.

Also since the RS gets the roof ditch molding colored, why cant rs also have the antenna colored?
