LED Map Lights, you might want to know...

So I was very interested in the AAC conversion kit HEREfor LED Map/Trunk lights, but then I found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280852678840...84.m1439.l2649

Put them in on my lunch break today, they were bright at noon and I haven't seen them at night yet.

I know people seem to like AAC here, but this is 2.5x less expensive for essentially the same thing. AAC charges $26.89 + $4.75 for blue.... I'll pass.

The ones on eBay shipped free next day, and I got them a few days later.

So basically $12.77 vs. $31.64 for VERY similiar products . Am I missing something here?

Just thought you might want to know.

The AAC ones come with a lifetime warranty and great customer service. Those eBay ones say they come with a warranty but it doesn't say how long or if they accept returns, etc etc.

Great find to save money OP. Sometimes that's what counts. They work, were less, hell...you could buy two sets if need be for what AAC charges. Warranty problem solved!! Good job.

Yeah, that's all I could tell. I just can't see spending that much more for something so similiar. They say they'll last 5,000 hours, and I'll never see that much on them in my lifetime. Time will tell though.

I just put in my trunk light, and it's dark here now. They look awesome. Gives a totally new night feel. I'm not knocking AAC by any means. They'll get my money on some light bars and such.

Warranty that you have to pay to send them back and you have to send your part first before they send you a replacement

I'm all for saving money but I would only buy LED's from a reputable source. I bought some cheaper ones for my plate light on one of my cars and they melted the housing. I spent another $80 replacing the housing.

Hope yours turn out to be a great deal and doesn't cause any damage. Update this thread in a month or so.

I will. Oh and did anyone else notice how hot those little OEM bulbs are? I grabbed the trunk bulb at work to try and quickly remove it and it gave my finger that glossy fried look lol. After a few tries I got a pen and popped it out in one try.

Turns out they are from AutoGoody.com out of Chicago.
They also sent a coupon for repeat customers for 15% off everything online.
Coupon Code: AUTOGOODY (how original )

I got my led map lights and trunk lights for less than 5$ on eBay...I'll take no warranty and no customer service on something so silly that should be so much cheaper

I'm wondering where the map lights are... all I have is a dome light. Nothing on the mirror nor directed toward the driver or passenger separately.

Well it's the bright little light front and center. (dry sarcasm included)...

The location of the light is not the point of the thread...

Purchased mine from DDM Tuning. Bought 3 of the white & 1 blue for $4.21 each total with shipping total was $21.44 Had to wait 2 weeks on shipping from China though, but I'm pretty patient!
I replaced the dome with blue and the license plate lights with the white and have a spare white when I get tired of the blue in the dome light.

Yeah I was wondering if putting a blue one in the rear plate light would be legal. I'm guessing it wouldn't.
