there are some threads about different vendors builds and what they got out of them. below seem like some of the ~numbers I have seen.

~20-30hp cai and tune
~80hp upper pulley cai tune
ported snout ~15-20hp I think (usually done with other mods)
ported tb 10-15hp I think. (usually done with other mods)
headers ~30hp (I have read you can loose a lb of boost so you are not going to net that without replacing the lost boost.)
cam ~30+hp
heads ~30+hp
then lower pullie can be thrown int he mix as well. 15-16lbs seems to be the most i see people run "safely" according to the larger tuners.

If any body see's any error's in my number feel free to point them out as I did not stay in a holiday in express last night.

the most I have seen people throwing around I think on stock bottom ends is like ~700-750whp range.

What may help me is a company I can be directed to, or a catalog?
I would like to see parts I can buy, I have worked for Chevy many years back in the 70 s

If you lose boost with headers, you don't need to up the boost to net the gain. You're just getting that power without having to spin the blower as fast and needing extra cooling... I think

Boost = HP you lose a pound you are not making as much power as you would have. Headers alone might only get 15-20hp because of the boost you lost. $1500 is an expensive 15-20hp.

Lots of vendors use lingenfelter pullies. There are tons of intake manufacures. kdi and adm come to mind on porting work.

In my mind I am leaning towards ported snout(has to come off for upper pulley), ported or new tb, cai, tune. Injectors if the max out.

I was going to do headers but then you need lower pulley most likely which requires balancer as well.

600-625whp is where I will quit. Otherwise my wife will star acting like a vag1na about the car being to scary to drive.

I did all the above, delete the heads and add a full Supercharger port, brings you to 700. Motor seems to easily handle it. I wouldn't go anymore, though. Your tires wouldn't last a month!

My wife drove mine the other day, she did fine. It's all in the throttle control. Engine doesn't boost unless you throttle it hard. She keeps I't in the vacum, drives stock. When I drive it I can't keep the rear end in line with the front!
