Pushrod length?

Need pushrod length help for my ls3 camaro. Have btr stage 4 cam, ported my heads, and morel 5290 lifters. I think the morel lifters want .03-.05 preload, any clarification?. When using the 6.8-7.8 pushrod checker took from comp cams, I'm getting 9 and there quarter turns for zero lash. Which is 7.2875. After adding .05 preload i get pushrod length of 7.3375. When I use my 7.4 pushrods, i get about 1.5 turns to bottom out the rocker bolt, which is too much. Do I want 7.35? That would give me just over .06 of preload. Just wondering if that will work smoothly with these lifters.

if the range is .03 to .05 then use a 7.325 pushrod for 0.0375 preload or custom order a pushrod set at the desired lenght. Do the lifers come with the preload spec? you sounded uncertain about it.

Double checked the paper, .045-.05 from morel. I pulled .03-.05 from web

If it were me I would measure that on a few cylinders then order the proper length

x2 for the checking a few. That's a really tight preload range to try and hit

Like mentioned, measure a few cyls both int and ex. Then come up with a length that puts the preload between .04 and .05. Then call a PR company like Trend and see if they can do a custom length. If they'll make any length, I'd shoot for that .05. If your PTV is real close, shoot for the lower end of the range .04. Plenty of PTV, go .05.

Yes, different lifters, heads, block combo.Definetly double check to get the right preload. Mine is 7.575 push rods with 0.035 preload just to compare with Johnson short travel lifters.
