I bought mine 2015 in Dec of 2016. According to GM it was the last one left in inventory. I found it at tiny dealership in TX. Towns population was like 1200 or something. He never should have had that car. Did not know how to use the internet. Was the deal of a life time. He almost gave me more on my trade in then I paid for my truck a 2015 Silverado. I paid like $38k for my truck and he gave me $36k MSRP was like $40k. He took a bath on that car.

I bet some guys paid $80k for theres but I don't know if they will admit it. It will be hard to get an average selling price. I know some guys in this forum got deals under $50k. Thats why the prices dropped on all of them. KBB and NADA know that. Seems in the last year the cars have held steady.

$43k...60 days ago. 800 miles. Cam, headers, tune installed. Car is mint.
I would be willing to bet that these cars are at the bottom of their depreciation cycle. |

It would seem so. I think we all said this once already, but it dipped again after ZLE release. I think this market of 40k is about the bottom end. SO anything 40-45k is good money for a purchase IMO.

I would be stunned if 40k for a nice car that wasn't abused wasn't the bottom.
Lotus Elises bottomed at $30k. Alfa 4cs are bottoming. and I could post many other examples of other cars that have abbreviated depreciation curves due to their special nature. That doesn't mean they will start to increase in value. Cars can stay flat for a long long time and then find a new audience and increase in value. I suspect that will be what happens to the Z. There are many folks who prefer non-turbo, non-SC cars. Manual to autos. Tons and tons. Our 228s with the LS7s and the incredible other hardware are incredibly special cars. How many 2019+ cars have the same recipe as the z28? |
