Vitesse Throttle Controller......

So, I've looked thru the threads and the VTC seems to be a nice way to increase throttle response, but has anyone actually compared stock to VTC 0-60 or 1/4 or 1/8 times with it? I'm strongly leaning towards this mod. Just curious about real world gains on a mostly stock LS3 M6.

It's only real effect is open the TB quicker, not more. So at WOT, as in a drag race situation, it has no effect. It's real virtue is part throttle acceleration. like when passing, accelerating while moving, a.k.a. 'tip in' or starting from a stop light. In a nutshell, it removes the gas saving, tire saving delayed response installed by the factory. I like it, but no, it won't increase top end speed.

I have tried it at the strip. It's pretty much worthless at the strip because it creates too much wheelspin. Hooking up is the biggest problem 5th Gen Camaros drivers have on the track. The VTC makes it even harder. I plan to get some drag radials and try it again in the future.

its not so much a mod, and having been on here for years.....there was a big FANBOY base for people to buy it and try it and they said sure no problems ever..... then the problems slowly trickled in, then a flood when they talked to each other. It just changes the response which is a delay in the potentiometer ( The thingy you hook it up too), opening the throttle blade rather than slower opening, do not expect any real performance gain or totally trouble free life for the product, and as a matter of fact its undesirable to loose traction due to so fast a response for those of us who are highly modified.

The potentiometer is basically a resistor slowing the impulse so the car gets better traction for safety and better fuel economy for making every bit of mileage for the EPA etc..... And not chirping the tires at every stop light is nice when your modified, and tuning does reduce the LAG that's especially present on Automatics like the one I used to own a 2011 2ss/rs vert L99.

Ummmm I tried it and it helped me at the drag strip. Got a lower time because I got into my power range must faster than I could without it. So I say it helps! You just got to be able to put the power to the ground

I have it. When my L99 was bolt on only, it would help throttle response but no power gain. I'd set it between 3 and 5 and you could tell the difference... and the fuel Milage. Milage would drop! I tested that and sure enough, you'd have to set it to 0 once you're on the highway. It was fun to use for take off.. Now that I'm FI, I don't even use it- just not needed. For a bolt on or V6, I can see it being fun to play with and may help a bit on takeoffs...

Big reason I got rid of mine was didn't help at the Strip. It made the car "feel" faster but did nothing for 1/4 times. I actually ran better with it off, better launches. It did make the burnout easier if I was to do one.

I like it and wouldn't get rid of it unless it was glitchy. It's fun and worth the money. Been running it all this year and not an issue to be seen yet. I turn it down to zero and wonder how I could ever put up with the car before. It feels so sluggish.
