You don't say. Pretty sure you missed the post where it was stated as a SEMA car. We are fully aware what the production SS will look like.

You don't say. Pretty sure you missed all my prior posts, including the very one you quoted, where I mentioned it was a SEMA car.

Congratulations on having seen a Shock colored Camaro in production trim prior to the one I posted. I hadn't seen one. I thought it was noteworthy that the debut of the Shock color was on a SEMA car that could not be purchased as shown.

I don’t see how anyone could look at the two side by side and not think the concept car is better looking.

I would go out on a limb and say they probably chose the SS because of the base price. I'm sure it's a very expensive package to add and there would be a lot less sold if the base price was a ZL-1. But I agree, from an enthusiast stand point the ZL1 would have been a better starting point.

Contracting and licensing restrictions.

I can guarantee you anyone purchasing a Yenko isn't concerned about price. The drivetrain, diff, axles, susp and trany are arguably the only potential reason to start with a ZL1, but they aren't using a GM blower if I read correctly.

I'm just thinking that they wouldn't have to do the 6.8L build etc, just H/C and aftermarket blower on an LT4 and you can make the same power...but I do understand Yenko owners wanting a "special engine build" over a modded LT4. Last and most important is that I would prefer the ZL1 front end, cooling, etc over the SS for obvious reasons at this power level.

A rumored replacement for the V8 6.0 HD truck engine supposed to be a 400 cubic inch (6.6 ltr) V8 from the article below at gmauthority.

So what is the real reason for not just using the 6.2 in the HD? Is it b/c they don't want all that AFM and other fuel efficiency "stuff" in their work horse engine?

Aluminum block and higher compression ratio are probably some of the more likely reasons for the 6.2 not being used for HD duty.

The Shock concept press release makes it sound like the stuff is a sure thing.

Quote:
The color made its debut on a 2019 Camaro SS show car that will be on display at the SEMA Show Oct. 30-Nov. 2 in Las Vegas, where it will be shown with new accessories and performance parts available from Chevrolet dealers.
They KNOW it would sell.

But later it says "also features concept styling".
