Claremore Oklahoma

By chance, is the person who bought the red v6 Camaro from Suburban Chevy in Claremore on this board?

I'd be interested in knowing who bought it also. I drove by that every day on the way to work and it was killing me having to wait on mine. I ordered from Suburban and mine should be here this week!

Same here, everytime I drove by Suburban Chevy I would stare at that Camaro and drool a little bit. lol

As far as I know a girl drives it. I say that because the only time I've seen it being driven was by my house on 66 by the QT in Verdigris. I later saw it that same day parked at a small factory right off HWY 169 on the east side of the highway in Owasso. Can't remember what two exits it was between though.

I stopped to look at it the day they got it and they were pretty much dicks about it. Wouldn't even open the doors so I could peek my head inside for a better look.

Congrats on your Camaro! Hopefully it arrives soon. What color did you order? Maybe I'll see you around Claremore sometime in it.

I waited at least a week before I stopped to look at it. Every time I drove by people were all over it so I finally found a day when no one was around and stopped. They never came out to even talk to me so I just looked through the windows. I thought about trying to say I've ordered one and it's not here yet so let me test drive this one, but then it was gone so I never got the chance. I ordered a 2SS/RS IOM with black stripes. I'm sure you'll see me all over the place since I'll be driving it everywhere after it finally gets here!

Whoever it was that came out to me while I was looking at it was a prick. When I asked if he would unlock it so I could take a look inside, he said no, I can't do it unless you buy it. I said thats bullshit and then left.

Badass man!

You might have seen me out and about before, if not, then throw me a wave or a rev when you get yours if you see me around. I drive a '99 z28 navy blue with grey stripes and a billet grill

I'll keep an eye out for ya! Most of the salesmen at Suburban are pricks if you ask me. The guy I've been dealing with just orders their new cars for them and doesn't even work there, he works up in Miami at some dealership up there. He's going to be there just to handle the delivery on mine since he's the one that ordered it for me. I'm glad because I didn't want to have to deal with anyone else. None of them are nice at all, or at least in my dealings with them.

Cool.

I'm glad the guy you are working with to get your car sounds halfway decent and you didn't have to deal with any of the pricks at Suburban.

dont leave out the owner, he's the biggest prick there !! my daughter bought a 2007 mustang from there, called me crying (from dealership) I drove out to the place, took the owner and half his staff back in a office, gave them a TALKING TO ( my dad is U.S. Army Retired E-9 and taught me well) I tore up the contract she had signed, as well as down payment, I think prick is putting it kindly, lol they lack to women

I can tell you when I originally ordered my car in October I talked to my salesman on the phone and we've only had phone and email contact since then. He has been very nice, polite, and helpful. The first time I actually had to go in there to check the status on the car, it was the most unpleasant experience. I do not like the people there. This guy I'm dealing with is coming from Miami to finish the transaction with me, and I'm glad because I wouldn't have wanted to deal with anyone else. I had another bad experience with a different salesman there some time last year. I just don't see how they stay in business. I will say this though. They are honoring their agreement with me on selling the car at MSRP and I've never paid a deposit or had any kind of contract. This was all over the phone, verbal agreement. Now they won't let me use the credit union discount to get the supplier pricing, but I've heard others on here say they weren't being allowed to use it either. That doesn't surprise me as much. But I've been worried all along that since I had nothing in writing and never paid a deposit that they would try to mark this car up when it got here, especially since no one in this area has even laid eyes on the 2SS yet that I know of, but they are sticking to their word so I'm grateful for that.

I have been talking with Jeff at Suburban about ordering a new Camaro. He said they will honor the Supplier Discount and sell at MSRP, but I have to go there in person to make the deal and leave a deposit.

Should I be leary of this place? I can order from one other place I know I can trust, but it is a 5 hour drive vs 2.5 to Claremore.

any tips appreciated.

thanks

I had an excellent experience with Suburban, but I ordered from Mike Folta. He was the guy who ordered their new cars back in October and then moved to a dealership up in Miami but maintained with me through the end and actually delivered my car to me. I picked it up last Friday. I can tell you I never had anything other than a verbal agreement over the phone to order my car. I never paid a deposit and never had a contract. They originally told me $2,000 over MSRP when I ordered and then when they realized other dealers were selling at MSRP they agreed to drop the $2,000 overage. I worried for 8 months that somehow that would change and when I picked up the car I would have all kinds of extra charges added in since I had no contract or they would say well times have changed again and we can get more for this car now so we're going to charge you more. They absolutely stuck to their word and sold me the car for MSRP exactly, nothing extra.

Now they would not honor the credit union member discount and give me the GM supplier pricing. It was going to be about a $1,300 discount off of MSRP and they reminded me about how they were going to mark it up originally and then decided not to, but they couldn't take another $1,300 off or they would lose money on the car. For a $38,000 car $1,300 was not enough to argue with them over and they were sticking to their original agreement so I was very happy.

All that being said, I don't know any of the other salesmen there. I know there was one by the name of Scott that you absolutely want to stay away from. He's the biggest crook there is. Their finance guy is a miracle worker and really helped me out with financing, actually beat the rate I had through my own credit union and got a better deal. If they are wanting you to do it in person, I'm not sure why, and I certainly don't know why they are asking for a deposit now when I didn't have to pay one. I have no idea if it will help, but you may mention that you know of a girl by the name of Toni that just picked her orange 2SS up from them and had a very good experience and you want to be treated as good as I was from them.

thanks for the info. My wife and I are going out there July 3rd to order the car. I plan on getting everything in writing so there is no confusion by either party later on.

If they don't want to put it all in writing, I will order from the other dealer and not worry about anything until the car arrives late this year.

placed the order Friday. They told me Summit White could still not be ordered, so I went with Yellow. It will be 12 weeks and I did not want to wait any longer on white.

Jeff was easy to work with, took the information and told me he will keep me updated on the status of the car. He mentioned that someone ordered an identical car to mine earlier and may not be able to get it and I have first shot at the car if the other person backs out.

Now it is my turn to wait.....................

thanks everyone for the info
