Someone makes a skip shift eliminator. Looking at the pics of one, I think it's just a resistor. But it's a small harness that plugs into a transmission sensor. On my phone , it's a little hard to search for things to link. But do a search for skip shift eliminator.

You would have to tune it out, but you can purchase a skip shift eliminator, you will still get the notification but it wont force you into 4th gear.

shift skip elimintor....they are cheap. You could tune it out, which voids a good portion of warranty.

or you can learn to drive to avoid it. I like th econcept of it but it should be a reminder or reccomendation not something that the car force syou to do.

with the skipt shift you arent forced to go 1-4th.

When I see this pop up I just give it more revs until the notification goes away then shift to 2nd. It is a bit annoying when it pops up but driving around it is pretty easy.

What good part of your warranty would this void?

I was unaware of a gas mileage warranty.

A tune voids your powertrain warranty

About every part worth anything. All powertrain...tranny, exhaust, engine and anything else they want to throw in there.

I meant a "good part" as in the "majority" of your warranty.

People will say the dealer has to prove its the mod you did. With a cai that's hard for them to do, with a tune you change the entire dynamic of the car. You'd be fighting a very steep uphill battle

I got the SLP eliminator from Amazon for $25. I see the notification pop on in the DIC every now and again. Reminds me how glad I am that I bought it. I ordered it before I had the car but I forgot to buy a jack that could fit under the car so I drove without it for the first two weeks. Hit the 1-4 thing three times, all during left turns in traffic. Effing stupid.
