New Camaro Questions
Hey guys, I am buying my first Camaro and this is my first new car ever. Anyway I'm considering getting the 2lt, inferno orange, RS, footwells lighting, sun roof. They are coming in at 30,368. Do guys think that this is a good deal? I am getting a supplier discount, and I am just not sure. They said that this is the invoice price. Whatever that is. I am new to this and just don't want to get charged more than I should. Pardon me if I am not looking at this correctly.
Thanks everyone. |

Camaroguitar85, the price they quoted you ($30,368) is MSRP, which ANYONE AND EVERYONE can get right off the street. Don't know if there are any rebates or deals in your area going on, but even getting it at supplier discount will bring it in at less. SO, is it a GOOD DEAL....considering what you have told us, I would say no....
oh and BTW, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy. oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

I see you are in Michigan. I'd contact BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet to get a quote from her.
That price looks high to me. |

Considering I got a 1SS/RS out the door taxes and all for 32,230. I'd say no.

What you need to do is talk to the dealer and have them put it on paper.
The MSRP (sticker price) can be found either using the Chevrolet website, or you can look on the car and get it from the window sticker. Then, they need to apply supplier pricing. If there are any rebates or incentives, they go on top of that. Supplier pricing should be somewhere near 'invoice' --and at invoice, there's still money in it for them. But getting a vehicle at supplier/invoice price isn't bad. Just make sure everything else stacks up correctly, i.e. if you're trading something in, make sure you're getting good value. And if you're financing the car, know what rates you qualify for BEFORE you have the dealer run your credit. For example, if you don't know what your credit score is, and they run your credit at the dealer and come back with, say, 4.99% through Ally (ex-GMAC), there could be a ton of holdback and the rate may not be the best. If you walk in and know that you can qualify for a 1.9% loan through your credit union, tell them in advance, and then ask them if they can beat it with any of their preferred banks. |

You can (and should) check out edmunds.com, too. This will show you the invoice price (what the dealer paid for the car) as well as what people in your area are paying for a similarly-priced Camaro. I think it's fairly accurate.
My 2SS/RS was only 34k with a supplier discount, so I highly doubt 30k+ is a good price for a 2LT. I doubt you're really being offered the supplier discount. You should be able to look this up online, too, through your company's employee discounts website, assuming your company is a GM supplier. Be careful and don't rush. Then enjoy your new car without regret. |

Based on your last post, I'd actually say it's pretty decent... you might be able to get them to go a bit lower, but I wouldn't say it's a bad price either. I am assuming this is a 2LT/RS right?
If that's the case, the options on a 2LT/RS are almost identical to the 2SS, sans the V8 motor....so yeah, it's not a bad price..
