Thumbs up

What a difference! I remember shopping for my 99. I didn't have a lot of time to shop because some numbskull had just totalled my 93 hardtop V6. My requirements were: black, convertible, LS1, A4, no ground effects.

My local dealer had exactly ZERO V8s, ZERO verts, and maybe FOUR V6s! (How do you sell them when they aren't on the lots??) Granted that was a small town, but one would expect AT LEAST ONE V8 to TEST DRIVE! In order to try out a convertible 4th gen at least, I actually went to a USED CAR LOT that had a 97 convertible Firebird and took it for a spin.

Dealer search showed there were only like 3 in a 400mile radius that came CLOSE to my requirements... 2 black Z28s with ground effects , 1 SS no ground effects, 400 miles away. Ordering one would have taken months! I wasn't looking to get an SS vert, but I liked it best of the group. Nevertheless I have never regretted the purchase and still love the car after 9 years.

It's nice to know that this time around the cars will be there when I'm ready. I will be able to order one and have it in a few weeks if I want. I will be able to test drive one in the config I'm interested in. It's nice to see Chevrolet really standing behind this car this time to make sure its a success.

If I didn't live over 1000 miles away I'd come by for a visit, Scotty, and personally thank you for taking the time to keep us informed and for being a credit to your profession.

Hey Scotty, could you please repost your info on interior color options, assuming that will not make the not so nice older gentlemen in the Black Burbans descend on your dealership with revenge in their hearts....I don't think it is on here anywhere that I have not been able to locate....

Interior options:

Jet Black

Neutral

Gray

then you have the inferno orange trim which compliments the jet black interior

You can also get the blue lighting effect instead of the orange.

I Thought it was the other way around you get the orange lighting with the inferno orange accents, blue lighting was standard.

My understanding is blue lighting is standard (for the ambient package) if you request the inferno orange accent package you will also then get inferno orange ambient lights.

I can't remember if you can get the inferno orange ambient light without the other inferno orange accents or not.

(wow, the words "inferno" and "orange" are both hard to type for me today, haha... and I had to type them so much in this post!)

My information does not make mention of ambient lighting color...including a color for the interior accent package.

This is all what I remember from the Cheryl (Pilcher?) (sp.) interview that also mentioned the lack of z28... not sure where to find it now; but I remember her talking about ambient lighting in there.

the "official" dealer guide just mentions "ambient lighting", but does not mention color.

The IDL may have mentioned "orange" with the inferno pack.

I'm sure where there's a will there will be all KINDS of colors :-)

I certainly hope so!!! Of course, blue would honestly do it for me

And the orange isn't bad either...

So many decisions I have to make.
