Project Twin Screw
Celebrating my first year of owning my 1SS Camaro by making a journal.
I purchased my first Camaro (2010 Camaro LS automatic) on January 7 2010. Right a way I started to make it my own and got the itch for more power. I added basic bolt ons: Magnaflow axle back exhaust, BBK LT headers, and Injen CAI. Then did some exterior upgrades: fog lights w/ halos, 22" rims, Stillen front splitter, Eibach lowering springs, and some other minor items. This was a fun car and it got lots of attention wherever I went. People would come up to me all the time asking to take pictures of my car. I owned this car for a year and the whole time I was always thinking that I should have bought a V8 and I should have gotten a manual transmission. Then after getting a raise at work and finding a deal I could not refuse I traded in my LS and purchased my 2011 1SS manual transmission on January 19 2011. Here are some pictures of my first Camaro (OUR BEE).http://www.camaro5.com/forums/album.php?albumid=2860. This is a video I took of OUR BEE. I was so excited when I got my new Camaro! The power and handling of the SS is a big improvement over a slightly modded LS. With 200 miles on the odometer it was time to start adding more power. I started by researching cold air intakes and went with ADM race intake. Next up was exhaust. I knew I wanted 3" pipe, since the plans were for big power later. After doing research on what was available, I came across a post here in the vendor section. CNT racing was looking for a Camaro to take installation pictures and sound videos in exchange for a free cat back exhaust. Their system is made from 3" stainless steel, so I sent a PM and got hooked up with a free cat back exhaust. AZ was hosting C5 Fest 2, so Sin City 5 Camaro club formed a big group of Camaro owners from NV, UT, and Canada then we headed down to the Fest and meet up with a large group from CA along the way. This was the best road trip I have ever been on! It was so much fun! At the Fest , I purchased my next set of mods. Nick at American Racing Headers hooked me up with a great price on a set of 2" primary headers with 3" inlet and outlet converters. Jordan at JDP Motorsports got me a great price on an Elite Engineering catch can. I picked up a knight rider scanner from AAC. I talked with Texas Speed about purchasing a Whipple supercharger and then ended up buying one from them a few months later. I also met up with a member who lives close to where the Fest was held and purchased a used set of Eibach 1" lowering springs. After installing my Whipple S/C and all the supporting mods, my Camaro is just so much fun to drive! I have never owned a vehicle with this much power and it took some practice and time to get used to. I knew after driving her around for a while, traction was next up on the list of mods. I wanted drag radials on the rear and 18" rims for lighter weight and more side wall clearance. I went with TSW Nurburgring staggered fit and Nitto NTO5R 305/45r18. After meeting the awesome group of people that work at JDP Motorsports, I decided to purchase a whole bunch of BMR suspension upgrades from them. Now my car hooks up 10 times better on the street and can't wait to see how she does at the track! I took my daughter to the Shark Reef @ Mandalay Bay today. While I was there I stumbled across a cool spot to take some pics of my new T3 ports.

My best E.T. is 12.0 @ 117 MPH with a 1.8 60ft.
Track elevation is about 2,500 ft so its hard to get good times. I ran 14.0 when my car was stock. Based on all the other stock or slightly modded Camaros that I've seen run here, 13.9 to 14.5 seems to be normal. I'm hoping to break into the 11s with these parts I installed- BMR bushings, sway bar, and toe rods.

Just ordered my next mod. 10% overdrive balancer from Jegs! I'm curious how much more boost it will produce.
