Exposed carbon fiber is listed as optional.

The exposed carbon weave insert is an option

Standard is that the insert is painted black

It makes sense as the clearcoat required for the exposed carbon weave is expensive!

Did she actually do this or was it the moderator?

The exposed carbon / black painted carbon remains the most confusing part of the options. Maybe it is stripe package dependant.

And Anna, thanks a lot for doing your best in answering our questions all the while trying to sift through the information.

I know it can be difficult to answer all of our questions, we're like a pack of rabid, ZL1 information seeking animals

Thanks.

I'm liking that the colors are really going to be very restricted.

Standard is Black Painted Insert - no stripe on roof or trunk

There is an option for Black stripe package to match black insert

There is another option for the insert to be Exposed Carbon Fiber.

I have yet to see a Carbon Fiber Stripe package to match the exposed insert.....

It's been stated many times throughout the threads on Camaro5 that ZL1 pricing won't be released until mid November.

Exterior options are forged aluminum 5 spoke 20 inch wheels, exposed carbon fiber air extractor, sunroof, and stripe package.

Sorry for the confusion...one one page the carbon fiber is listed under options...the other page it is listed as standard.

There are no pictures of the stripe. No clear explanation of the stripe package offered.

This is what it says about the hood:

STANDARD...

Aluminum hood with carbon fiber 'mohawk' insert

Later in the info it reads as follows:

'This functional hood air extractor is engineered out of carbon fiber for strength, durability and low mass.

The black painted carbon fiber mohawk requires unique care when cleaning. The exposed carbon fiber weave version can be waxed like the rest of the surface of the car.'
