I think the problem stems from the belt in the loop and pulling straight across vs. out and across. At 200 miles mine does not have the problem, however, I think I will put some black felt tape in the impact seat area to prevent this. I purchased a belt protector, that doesn't work.

It would be awesome if someone came up will a product that fit inside the loop or some sort of wear guard that actually looked cool and protected the seat.

I guess these Recaros are pretty common? and are an option on the SS?? not sure.

I went with a seat belt cover and took it out of the loop, but it was much more comfortable and easier to reach when using the loop.

I have no sign of this condition on my seat. I have noticed that at times the belt gets twisted and as it passes through the loop with the magnet on it this causes the rough edge of the belt to contact the seat. I am now mindful of this condition and now untwist the belt and pull the slack out without it rubbing the seat making sure it is flat before fastening the belt. Another area is the door panel. I keep scuffing it up with my shoe everytime I get in and out of the car.

MIINE WENTH IT TODAY, TOOK THEN ABOUT 3 HOURS REPLACED THE ONE SEAT COVER. MATCHES PERFECT.

At Sunrise Chevy in Glendale Height Il, the car left the eyes of Mike Lewis the service consultant un till the tech took it, then right in from of the service advisor. until I got in it.

First time purchase with that dealer, first time in service. I was very impressed, Having been in the business over 40 years I don't impress easy. They gave me a carto use for a few errands I had to do.
Great Experience

Kudos to Sunrise Chvy in Glendale Heights Illinois

I never use that seat belt loop on my Recaros. My guess is that wear will come back if you use it.

Kinda sucks you guys have to deal with this on such a great car.

Surprised no aftermarket company hasn't designed a simple fix somehow.

That's the answer. I routed the seat belt through the hole on the left of seat.

My car is two weeks old with 574 miles and has significant wear though not as bad as Prd72 (sorry stole your photo)

WTF they didn't notice this on CTF or early test prototypes?

Does anyone have a car that does not show wear (that is using the belt retainer)
I stopped putting the seatbelt through the retainer because of this. Had the seat cover replaced once, and learned my lesson. There are neat solutions people have come up with using paracord...but no, there's no factory "fix", because the fix would require brand new placement of either the belt retainer strap, or the belt itself.

You could probably go in and ask for that to be replaced under your bumper to bumper.

I got my seat cover replaced last week under warranty... And looks like there is a design change to help with the wear issue.
