This is probably going to sound really dumb...but this mod voids the warranty right? A supercharger puts a lot of added stress on an engine? What happens if the engine fails because of this?

I think its an obvious question...but I guess I am wondering how good or bad this is for your engine?

yes, the GM warranty officially goes bye-bye. but most professional shops like LF and Hennessey (sp?) will back up the warranty as long as they do the install.

Vortech offers a supplemental 3 Year/36,000 Mile Powertrain Warranty to mirror your factory Warranty if you have any concerns. We have always set our systems up for the long haul though. We all drive our high performance cars every day, so we feel you should be able to as well. Using our out-of-the-box tune we always shoot for 100,000 mile reliability and dependability.

Many commercially sold Vortech Supercharger units have reached over 300,000 miles on them, including the very first supercharger we ever sold over 20 years ago, and are still going strong today. We speak to enthusiasts all the time who have over 100,000 miles plus on their Vortech Superchargers. For reliability on daily drivers, street/strip cars, show cars, etc...we've got you covered.

Is this warranty like the Magnacharger warranty where you can't race it or it will void it?

To my knowledge the only things that will void our 3/36 Supplemental Warranty are further modifications or custom tuning. As long as your car is otherwise stock (or with a cat-back exhaust), and you buy the complete system through a Vortech Top-Tier Installer & have them install the system on your car, you should be eligible and covered. Oh yeah, and you must use our included tuning as well.

I just noticed there is a provision that states if the breakage occurs during the commission of a crime, the warranty is void. So, you guys that want to get it to do faster drive-bys or to use it as a faster getaway car might want to reconsider...

Nice to see some Camaro's getting blown with a Centri based application. I'm sure as more of these hit the dyno's and then the streets/strips the "early" adopters of top mount systems are going to be re-thinking their decisions.
