Aftermarket front splitters on track days
Hey folks, I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on an ACS T5 splitter (2011 V6 supercharged) but wanted to see how aftermarket splitters are holding up for you all at the track before purchasing. I’m not a fan aesthetically of the splitters with support rods. Can the splitters w/o support rods hold up to the down force pressures that a track environment creates, or or the aftermarket ones just for looks? Thanks for any input.

So the ACS T5 specifically isn't going to make a yuge amount of downforce on an otherwise aerodynamically-stock car. My opinion is it might reduce lift, but probably not net major downforce. As a result for that piece you probably won't need any level of support rod. The Z28 splitter is larger and doesn't use one.

FYI
The Z28 splitter has 2 internal supports that tie it into the bumper. |
