Exhaust question
I just picked up a low mileage Z28 but the previous owner straight piped it from the axle back and went single tips. I have been trying to find just some resonators or mufflers with dual tips coming out and so far besides buying a $2000 Corsa system the only thing I have found is Hooker makes one with the dual tips but doesn’t seem to be available anywhere. does anybody have any other reasonable priced suggestions?

Maybe post a WTB here and on FB Z/28 groups. See if anyone has stock take off exhaust. Not sure if that section on a ZL1 is the same.

I am not sure either even though Corsa told me it was. Maybe I’m wrong but the Z28s exhaust looks larger? I would take a stock one but kind of wanted a aftermarket for better sound and just need the axle back but options seem to be very limited. But that might be the way I have to go.

American racing and billy boat both offer an axle back with dual tips. You could always buy the single in/out muffler of your choice and have an exhaust shop fab up some dual out tips. The OEM muffler with the exhaust fuse pulled is not a bad option either, especially if you think you might do headers and no cats, depending on how loud you want it.

I belive the ZL1 is 2.5" pipe diameter, same as the SS NPP. Ours is 2.75". I think Corsa is the only one that offered the 2.75" for the Z/28. And now they offer the 3" too I think

Not sure if this helps with visual difference. I’ll have to go take measurements if it helps.

UPDATE- I found a muffler shop that got me hooked up with some smaller Magnaflow mufflers and some nice powder coated black dual double walled tips all installed and sounding sweet. Thanks everyone for your help!

The Z28 mufflers are the same as the ZL1 they just butted the pipes up to the muffler if you look real hard you can see it. I have a 2014 Z28 system on my SS with LTH’s and HF Cats and a X Pipe from C7 Vette vs the H Pipe.

My buddy got a Valvetronic Designs exhaust on his car and it is awesome! It sounds amazing with the valves open and when he closes them the car sounds almost stock. Definitely a great budget option for the platform. Might be getting one myself.
