Yeh...the appearance makes a lot of sense especially for those who like the look underneath their car at shiny pipes.

Regardless of the material you get similar performance with similar weight across the board with cat backs. I went with Flowmaster because they look good, the sound good, and they are half the price of others. I feel i made a good decision.

Everyone has got their preferences. What works/appeals to one person doesn't work/appeal to another. Personally I don't like flowmaster. The drone I had in my Mustang GT was too much, so I switched to Magnaflow. It's much more tolerable. As for the SS I went with Borla. Yes, a little more expensive, but money well spent. No matter which exhaust you get, it's better than the heavy stock one.

I love mine but they aren't pretty. I hope all the people lying on their backs looking at the bottom of my car don't mind. I don't wash or polish my under carriage either.

Stainless is an alloy. T-304 is a better grade of stainless than T-409, but at the same time, T-409 will last longer than you would ever need it to. T-304 has 18%-20% chromium and 8%-10% nickel. The higher nickel content is what gives it the higher lustre. T-409 has 10.5%-11.75% chromium and .5% nickel. That is why it has the golden dull look. A magnet will not stick to T-304 but will stick to T-409.

Mine were only $409 shipped, love that they are black and are half as heavy.
