for L99 drivers

when driving your L99 SS, do you enjoy the ride better when its controlled by tap shift or when the computer is in control? and which option gives the best performance? TIA

I like it in sport mode w/ my Range AFM delete plugged in. When I buy purchase a gear shifter w/ tap shift from CFD on here I may change my mind.

It depends on how I am driving. If I'm just cruising around, I let the computer do it all. Plus, if there are any sharp turns, the paddles are useless for me. If I am getting on it in a straight line, I use the paddles.

Tap shift can be fun, but I rarely ever use it. Never forget the time in my 2012 SS that I went to make a turn on to a side street and having the car in sport mode I bumped the downshift tap shift and the car growled like a Manual down shifting. Dumb but I was like holy shit, I'm sure part of that was the Borla ATak .

I'm a big fan of tapshift. Lol, but get the buttons off the wheel and on the shifter where they belong and all is well.

It would have been nice if they set it up the same as the Chevy SS. On my SS there are the paddles on the wheel and "Slap" shift with the shifter, kinda nice.

I use them because I'm not tuned so I do it to get rid of the AFM.

Sport Mode w/ Range AFM device 98% of the time. Sometimes I'll downshift with the taps just to get a little rev noise, but very rarely.

I bought an automatic for the ease of driving since mine is a DD but when
entering an expressway I almost always tap shift down a couple times
to get that extra boost of power I like doing it that way instead of just punching it and letting the trans down shift for me.Most of the time when down shifting your entering a corner and the paddles are somewhat difficult
to operate because of placement of your hands on the wheel.

I would use them more if the paddle shifters were on the shifter. I too use my Range and sport mode. This is my first automatic, so it took a lot of getting used to.

Sports Mode 50% of the time (spirited driving). Out of the hole to 70, "S" mode seems to have better shift points. Use paddles about 10% of the time.

Some may not be aware of these as I haven't been posting much so figured I'd let everyone know. The last page has the four current models I offer.
