Its entirely possible that squeezing those wide tires on those OEM wheels caused them to expand in diameter large enough to be registered as a difference

This right here is likely your problem. You shoved a tire too wide on a rim so the rubber has to go somewhere. It's only option is out, making the tire a slightly larger diameter and thus screwing up your car's brain.

Op see if you can pm members that have your tire width on stock rims. From all the debate over the years I recall many posts about wide tires on stock rims with no issues. 315 are certainly wide but its worth talking to people that have done what your doing and see if they have had similar issues.

Also remember that one brand of a 315 wide tire may be significantly different in width than another. Not all tires are actually the same

315's should be mounted on at least a 11" rim.

I'm staggered, no issues.

Are the new tires on old wheels balanced? Just thinking, i work at a shop and we see people who have a buddy put the tires on, but doesn't have a balancing machine.

A balance problem wouldnt put the car in limp mode.

Drove it again and was fine that day. Next day i had it out and same issue. It will come and go now. I checked the speed with my gps and its right on the money. Think its the tires or is it just a coincidence and i have other issues?
Can you get the car scanned?

If you have a Limp mode message, there will be a code in the computer telling you where the problem is.

I really dont think its your tires.

I agree i dont think its a tire issue either. It will do it right off sometimes when i start the car and barely begin to move. One time a P2138 code came up when i scanned it. But other times it doesnt show any codes just that its in limp mode.

That code is often associated with a throttle controller. Unhook that thing and see if your issue clears up - I bet it will. After a while, you'll just learn to step on the pedal harder...

I took the controller off and the problem went away.
Thank you for all the ideas and suggestions and help!

The throttle controller is snake oil.

It doesn't do anything that a heavier foot can't do. It doesn't "go to eleven".

Excellent - glad that solved it for you. I can understand why people like those things - I've driven by buddies car with one and it changes the feel a bit. But ultimately, there is no gain, it's just a perception thing.
