MMM How about the SCT X3 and a free tune from Jannetty Racing? Right there you'll have $100 left over to take the woman out.
let me know how that works out for you if you blow an engine or tranny and they check the flash counter.

all they do is tune the stock tune... so when they read the tune they see GM tuned, they will think the car has a defaulted PCM.. and will need to replaced it.. just find a good tuner or talk to some shops on here. everyone who say tunes void your warranty, are people like you , who dont actually know how to tune a car, and think they know what they are talking about because thats what they here from people.

go talk to some professionals

i was just like you, until i had 3 tuners tell me other wise...

will tuning void your warranty yes, but there are ways to hind things trust me.

now why would a tuner try to calm any fears you might have about warranty? perhaps they have a product/service to sell? your own risk. I'm not taking it.

unless a tuner is willing to warranty my engine/trans if denied from gm/dealership, their word is not good enough for me : )

just forget it... i mean even this guy with a z06 was there and he was telling me the same thing... he even did it and it worked for him... i understand why people dont wanna get it tuned... but let me tell you when you have like a full setup like CAM, headers exhaust, CAI + tune...
until you have that i dont think you will understand why we mod our cars. its worth it... you have to pay to play...

I don't understand that more powerful cars are typically more fun? I had a handful of warranty voiding mods on my 350 Z, including an osiris reflash and dyno tune. it wasn't as responsive to the mods as our huge v8's are, but none the less, I've been in the tuning world and have an idea of what I'm talking about.

for every story there is about someone getting away with warranty work with mods that should otherwise void warranty, there's another horror story about someone being stuck with a bill that may have not even been caused by their mods. neither one of us are right, because this scenario will pan out different for each different person / setup / dealership. chances are you will never need to use your warranty anyways, it's just a feel good thing.

it's at your own risk, I agree with you have to pay to play.

I would go with a tune, you'll pick up quite a bit of power, usually more than any bolt on and will cost around $400. That is if your dealer is not picky and will not void powertrain warranty. That is if it really matters to you.

I would personally go with a short throw shifter
